A Segment ring, is a ring that is continuous, and has a segment piece, in place of the ball, held by tension.
A seamless ring, is press fit together until the end's meet.
Smaller gauges can be bent by hand, however it is suggested to use Ring Opening Pliers and Ring Closing Pliers, if you wish to change it yourself.
Many local tattoo/ piercing shops will change your jewelry for you, if your ordering on line, for a small material fee.
